EPSC virtual Outstanding Presentation Contest (vOPC)
The contest is based on the poster contest from the previous years, but will be organized this year with slightly different regulations to comply with the virtual format of EPSC2021. Participating presentations uploaded to the EPSC2021 website as display material will be evaluated based on 1) the relevance of the study, 2) the scientific accuracy, as well as 3) the clarity of presentation. Please note that the 1-min pitch in the live session is NOT part of the vOPC - only the actual uploaded presentation (PDF, video, or any other format) will be considered.
Participation is open to all BSc or MSc students, PhD candidates, as well as scientists that obtained their last degree after 1 January 2021. Participants need to be first and presenting author of the submitted abstract (please note that also a shared award with co-authors or team members is not possible). Each author can register only ONE abstract for the vOPC at the EPSC2021.
The letter of schedule will automatically contain a link to register for the EPSC vOPC. If the above mentioned conditions of eligibility are fulfilled, you may sign up for the contest by 15 September 2021.
All registered EPSC participants are invited to vote on the vOPC presentations by 23 September 2021 at the latest, as long as they are neither BSc or MSc students or PhD candidates themselves, are not participating in vOPC, are not a co-author of the presentation, and do not share the same affiliation as the first author. Ineligible votes will be removed before selecting the vOPC awardees.
All vOPC participants are clearly indicated as such in the final programme after upload of their online display material. A short evaluation form is then directly integrated into the online abstract HTML page for easy access. Authors of abstracts participating in vOPC are obliged to upload display materials by 2 September 2021, 13:00 CEST.
As prize, each awardee will receive a registration waiver for EPSC2022. The prize certificate will be handed out during the opening reception of next year's conference.
In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the poster award coordinator Lena Noack by email.
